The infamous "Birthday Club"

The band , The Directors, frequent more spots than wedding and reception halls.

On the eve of June 22nd, 2006 , a traditional meeting was arranged. This tradition is called "The Birthday Club". People come from all over to get a taste and a glimpse of what this experience is like.

What is the Birthday Club?
The Birthday club was formed by 8 men who make it a point to celebrate life, and each other.

Cheers Boys!

They are definitely a group of men unlike any other.
And so, the men show up to La Campagnola in Lasalle, where the food is fresh and the atmosphere is distinctly Italian. Yes, they eat, yes, they may have a drink or two, but there's something different about this dinner experience.

It's a spontaneous time to play music, sing and dance for themselves as well as for those eating in the restaurant. At the sound of the first chord, the night takes off into a musical.

People make reservations for the restaurant, in hopes that
"The Birthday Club" is going to be there.
Not to mention it's great service
and homemade Italian specialties as well as an option to Bring your own wine.
Bob here, on the left, came all the way from Missisauga, Ontario.

What could be more fun on a Friday night off?

By the way, it was the guy in the middle's Birthday.Happy Birthday Tony.
And the girl to the right? In case you haven't noticed already, that's the singer from "The Directors". Randi always stops by to sing a couple of tunes.

It's a very simple tradition.
A tradition that has gained a large following.

Salut! To the Birthday Club!

Bella Notte

And We can dance...for inspiration.....

The evening was June 10th and "The Directors" performed for Giovanna Mercuri and Pasquale Falbo at Buffet Sorrento in Lasalle. Emotions ran wild as the newlywed couple made their grand entrance into the hall and began the evening with their first dance to the classic duet "Vivo Per Lei" originally recorded by Andrea Bocelli and Laura Pausini, and on this night, performed by "The Directors".

All the best from us to you on the occasion of your marriage.
May the rest of your lives be as beautiful and exciting as the day you first met.

Ladies and Gentleman, take a moment to see the love that exists between this couple. Tears of Joy! It was a beautiful moment witnessed by all.

Here are some highlights from the evening:

For those of you who have never had the opportunity to attend an Italian wedding, it's imperative to point out that food plays a major role in any classic Italian event. A delic ious buffet of hot and cold treats were presented to guests upon their arrival with a martini bar. Once in the hall, Not two, not, three, but SIX courses were served to all guests and we're positive noone went home hungry. And if that wasn't enough, at 12 o'clock, an unbelivable sweet table was laid out with all the trimmings. Lavish cakes, a chocolate fountain with assorted fruits, a pick and choose of different types of cheeses, paninis, need we say more? All of which was delectably catered by the good chefs at Buffet Sorrento.

A traditional instrument commonly played at Italian weddings is the accordian. "The Directors" played a non-stop set of cha chas, tangos, rumbas and merengues for the dancing crowd.

Here is "the Directors" own, "Big Al" Arciero playing the accordian. At's nice!

Other honourable mentions must go to our good friend, Mike the videographer, at Pacifica Productions
who captured the couple and their many guests with no doubt a keen artistic eye.
And to George Mavitzis at Candle Wax Studio
whose photographic abilities far exceed the norm in wedding photography. If you're looking for something different and fresh, this is the company you should contact.

Randi interacted with guests on the dance floor and all the ladies proved that no matter what age you are, it's never too late to shake your booty. Randi is even considering hiring, some of these dancing divas for her back up dancers...Especially Giovanna and "The Dancing Queen" and maybe the little girl on the left, if she's not too booked solid.

And last but not least, the evening was coming to a close and "The Directors" pulled out last song just when the time was right. At this time, we were graced with a very special performance by a very special guest.

What a wonderful world......

We thank Giovanna and Pasquale for choosing the Directors. It was our deepest honour to entertain you and your guests. And once again ...Auguri!We hope you had as much fun as we did.
We also thank Buffet Sorrento for the impeccable service offered to us throughout the course of the night.
