Nice day for a white wedding

On October 20th, 2007, Lauren and Nic were happily married at the Sofitel Hotel in Montreal.
For their opening dance, the couple chose something a little edgier than the usual slower tempo melody to kick start the evening.
The song they chose was "White Wedding" by Billy Idol and The Directors showband did not fail to recreate it just like the original.
It's not often to see the cha cha performed to a Rock tune.
Lauren and Nic sure pulled it off with flying colors.

The reception was mixed with the traditions of a Jewish wedding combined with French culture flair.

The evening's schedule ran seamlessly with Ellyn Strulovitch of Planned 2 Perfection events on board , one of the most savvy, professional and organized planners in the city. She truly takes the clients needs into account.
After all the planning and organizing for a wedding, it's always comforting to know that on the day of, the family can enjoy the party while someone else takes care of the organization of the event.
Great Job Ellyn!

The Myers' family was proudly honored with the appropriate "mezinka" tradition as Lauren was the first and last child to be married off.
Mazel Tov!

Lauren and Nic cut their wedding cake which we can safely say was even more delicious than it appeared.


It was clear that everyone enjoyed themselves.

The Directors Showband would like to thank the Myers and Bousette families,
the Sofitel Hotel and Ellyn from Planned 2 perfection events. With these key players, the reception certainly was a success and The Directors were honored to be a part of it.

You had to be there.....

The highly anticipated wedding between Regine Shaffer and Mathew Rodier took place on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 at the Chevra Kadisha synagogue.

More than 300 guests attended and the reception was "out of control".
The couple and their guests definitely knew how to celebrate.

Tony from "The Directors" looked on with surprise as Matthew took an original stance in the Jewish Hora.

(Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, DO NOT, we repeat, DO NOT try this at home)...

We can see here that the hora was what sent this wedding reception into a frenzy.
The pictures shown here are not even half of the story and could not possibly depict the amount of energy in the room.
You really did have to be there, if you were even lucky enough to have been on the guest list...

The Directors were there in full force.... keeping the crowd energized all night long.

A double mezinka

The Mezinka in the Jewish tradition is a huge blessing to the family. It represents how life has come full circle and now all the children have been married off. In this case, both families were blessed.

A Circle of friends

The evening closed with friends and relatives surrounding Regine and Matthew with a circle of love and support. It was very obvious that all who attended gave their blessings to the happy couple...

A full throttle party

September 22nd, 2007 was the date and newly renovated Centre de reception Sorrento was the place to be for the celebration of the marriage between Carla and Alex.

As always, Centre Sorrento provided an immense variety of tasty treats with great professional service while The Directors Showband gave the couple, their friends and family an evening not soon to be forgotten.


It was an Italian wedding held in the traditional way with the many elements that distinguish an Italian wedding from any other.

Most weddings have the bride and groom participate in a first dance (the opening dance).
In the Italian tradition there are two opening dances. The picture below is that second dance which opens up the dancefloor . After that point, there is no telling where the party might escalate.

In this case, it escalated above and beyond anyone's expectations.

Guests looked on as Alex danced with his mother....

And also as Carla tossed her bouquet....

Yes it was traditional, however there was one tradition which is usually reserved for a Jewish wedding that everyone had no problems getting into.

Someone requested a Hora!

Yes, even the Italians can Hora.....
And they proved it!

The Directors enchanted guests with their large repertoire of full variety music.

Towards the end of the evening, it was apparent that some people had no feelings of stage fright.

It was a party with great atmosphere, great food, great people and great entertainment.
Can you get better than that?

The Directors: Rave Reviews at LOMA conference

September 18th, 2007 :

The Directors Showband were the feature act for the annual awards banquet at the LOMA conference held this year in Quebec City at the prestigious Hilton Hotel.

The band played a high energy set for two hours straight while attendants danced up a storm.

Spontaneity, first rate talent and even chemistry are major elements in what makes The Directors the most sought after showband in Montreal.
Crowd interaction always plays a huge role in any Directors performance.

Great crowd, great party !

Marisa and Nick celebrated with Friends and family on September 15th, 2007 at the Club de Metropolitain .
A beautiful setting for a beautiful couple.


The Directors gave it their best with a high energy show that had guests dancing till the wee hours of the morning.

The bouquet was tossed and then it was time for the garter.....
Nick was eager and ready.


As the night rolled on The Directors pulled out one of their many interactive elements.

Star Studded Event

August 25th, 2007

Gisela and Linneo

The stunning couple who reside in Italy, travelled all the way to Montreal to celebrate the occasion of their marriage with family at friends at Buffet Roma.

Auguri!!

This wedding was different than most that followed more of an authentic Italian reception.

Friends of the bride and groom put together several games which guests were more than willing to take part in.

One of these games was a box full of costumes was given to the groom. Each costume represented a different dance. The groom would pull a costume from the box and then have to recreate the dance that went with each costume.

For example...ballet.

Linneo was a real trooper and succeeded in entertaining his guests.

Friends also put together a song for the couple....

There was no shortage of entertainment at this party.

Gisella and her Italian prince shared a traditional second dance.

Once her friends decided to let her go....

One truly amazing feature of the night was young budding star in the making "Vanessa" who blew guests out of their seats with her amazing voice, confidence and stage presence.

"Fergie, watch out!"

She even sang a duet with Tony.
