A smokin' and stylin' party

On July 26th, 2008, Mary and Bart held probably one of the year's most lavish weddings as planned by Donna Seidman.

Many elements were carefully planned out along with a long listed itinerary which boasted the highest quality in every facet .

To begin, three very large tents were set up in the couple's backyard which sheltered their large guest list of 300 guests.

In the first tent was a large lounging area (luxe Rentals) for cocktails...

A fully stocked fully lit bar with every possible type of mixed drink, specialized martinis and superior alcoholic beverage choices. Not to mention the man made tubs of beer available for grabs located around each corner of the tent.

For those of you who may not be aware, JAVA U has a catering company. Preparing some of the tastiest and most creative dishes for cocktail, main dish and dessert, The Directors absolutely bar none recommend Java U Catering for any event.

Also available to guests was a sushi bar with every possible choice of sushi imaginable.

Once the cocktail portion of the evening had ended, guests entered the second tent which was separated by white fully lit curtains. In this tent, another fully stocked bar and beautifully decorated tables.

The third tent was a WIFI play station/ games room reserved for children with smoothies en masse.

........................................................................................................

No party would be complete without choice entertainment.
Bart and Mary's choice was without a doubt The Directors.

Also brought in for the event, dancers from Global Entertainment who joined The Directors in animating the stage and crowd.

....................................................................................................

Special moments

A young little lady wows the crowd with her version of Louis Armstrong's "What a wonderful world" and "Ave Maria".

Bart puts his foot in his mouth, or rather someone else's foot, during the garter.
(would you like some salt for that foot?)

Bart has a memorable dance with his mother to Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight".

A Family poses...

Pictures and descriptions of this reception cannot even come close to having actually have attended the event. Even the washrooms brought in by Star Suites
were a sight worth mentioning.

The Directors would like to thank Donna Seidman , coordinator of the event, all suppliers involved mentioned above and of course Mary and Bart and their families for having The Directors as the soundtrack to their special day.

Sincerely,

The Directors.

A pulsating wedding

The Directors have performed for countless 'JUST MARRIED' happy couples. It's often noticed that some of the best wedding parties have been where the bride and groom participate and get their shake on.
On July 19th, 2008, Eric and Mirna had no qualms about leading their guests to the dance floor.

Their party was held in the very breathtaking "La Ruelle" at the intercontinental hotel.
And EVERYONE came to party....

Their evening began with a bang! Their grand entrance was set to the sounds of djembe player
Mark "Marko Bongo" Santourdjian (who happened to be Eric's brother). The energy escalated as The Directors broke into a high intensity dance set. A perfect beginning to a sensational party.

The Directors own Brent Martin squared off with the "djembe meister" as the crowd roared with excitement.

It was undeniably exhilarating....

As the hours flew by, THE DIRECTORS gave their best in top notch performance.

(Do not be deceived by the pink platform flip flops. After 4 hours on stage, a girl's tootsies need some relief ! )

All who watched were captivated and it became contagious. Many people decided to make their own cameo up on stage.

From Bridesmaids....

To Eric and Mirna, the bride and groom......

Along new singing sensations "Mirna and The Bridesmaids"

(It's pretty amazing how little power their microphones took. Talk about going green!)

Ah Yes ! and we cannot forget those special moments that are so cherished.

First dance
Eric and Mirna pulled off some nice footwork in a Rhumba to Micheal Buble's "Way you look tonight".

Mother/Son Dance

Always a tear jerker...

The Bouquet

Catching it is difficult enough...try getting a shot of it in flight.
(The Directors own sound man "Dizzy Dom" takes all the pictures which you see on the blog. He's getting pretty good.)

And so ends another blog... as a couple's journey begins, down the road which we call life.

Congratulations to Eric, Mirna and their families.

Sincerely,

The Directors .

A special kind of magic

What makes for a great party? Is it the food? Is it the entertainment? Is it the centerpieces? Is it the location? Is it the Event Planner? Although all of these elements do have their own special role in any successful event, the answer to this question would quite simply be, the people.
It is most certainly the people that make the party.
On July 3rd at the Shaar Hashamayim Synagogue, there could not have been a better chosen group of people to celebrate the marriage of Mindy and Ryan.
Mazel Tov!

Also chosen to be there were none other than Montreal's favorite show band The Directors, along with Judi from Designs by Judi.

It was a non stop evening of dancing, shmoozing and kibbutzing.
Needless to say the dance floor was packed right from the get-go with the Hora right on through until the end of the night.
There was no doubt, this party crowd was there to celebrate!!

There are no pictures that could ever describe the energy and class of the crowd there that evening. You just simply had to be there. They were truly a remarkable bunch.

In reality, It was The Directors who had the best seat in the house.

Or was it Mindy's father, Jeff?

With all this said, Mindy and Ryan's wedding was a blast and a half!
There was warmth which emanated from the couple, their family and their friends and a glow about the room which is a very rare and special kind of goodness.
The Directors
were honored to have been a part of your simcha.

Sincerely,

The Directors.

A hole in one of a party

It was the Golf season opener which took place on Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 at Club de Golf de la Vallee du Richelieu in Ste-Julie.

Although it was a weekday, there was no shortage of party people in the crowd.

Members of the esteemed golf course ate a delicious 4 course sit down meal and were entertained in style by none other than The Directors.

Bernard Vaillancourt of the management team at Club de Golf de la Vallee du Richelieu
sang his annual song this year, once again. He did it his way....

The season opener proved extremely successful.
It looks like The Directors will see you next year.

Thank you to all staff and management from Club de Golf de la Vallee du Richelieu.

Sincerely,

The Directors Showband

'Grant'ed a wish at the Shaar Zion

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008, was the much anticipated date set for Sam and Nurith.
The Reception and ceremony was held at Shaar Zion synagogue.
Mazel Tov!

The hora raged with vitality and only escalated as each song played out by The Directors.

Sam and Nurith found themselves soaring with delight above the crowd.

The Directors performed with ease...

Instead of a regular speech, Sam decided it would be far more original and memorable rewriting the lyrics to Leonard Cohen's "halleluyah" and singing it in his bride's honor. He entitled his touching masterpiece "How I love you" and was accompanied by The Directors.

(look out Tony, looks like you've got some competition...)

Top place winner for the Sam and Nurith edition of Wedding Idol

There were many crowd pleasers that evening, but this young budding star below took the cake, and boy, did he eat it with his rendition of "Wild Thing".

The kid was so good that Tony was thinking of accepting the wreath placing position for the mezinka.

In all sincerity, the wedding was truly a beautiful coming together of two souls and their family and friends who supported them.
We thank you all and wish you all the mazel in the world for a bright and happy future.
Thanks also to Manny and his team from The Shaar Zion synagogue.
It is always a pleasure to work with you.

Sincerely,

The Directors Showband
