A lesson in distinction

On behalf of "The Directors", a very heart felt " Mazel Tov" goes out to Elaine Carsley and Jeremy Depow who celebrated their special day with family and friends on the date of August 13th, 2006 at Elmridge Country Club in Ile Bizard, Quebec.

From the beginning of the evening until the very end, this was not your typical wedding. Yes, the food was tasty, the ambiance was truly sophisticated, guests were dressed to the nines, and everyone got their kicks on the dance floor, but there was something different about this couple and the way they chose to celebrate this momentous occasion.Traditional and non-traditional key elements made it this way.

The Traditional

The Hora was high energy as Elaine and Jeremy were raised high into the air by surrounding excited guests.

Grandfather of the Bride, Saul Smith, recited the Motzi, the traditional blessing said over the bread. A blessing recited to begin the meal.

The Non-Traditional
Elaine wore a beautiful rose colored wedding gown instead of a typical white gown.
If that wasn't original enough, for their first dance, Elaine and Jeremy chose the song
" Solisbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel. A not- so standard first dance song, yet very original and sentimental to them both. Here's a shot of them dancing as guests surround them watching their every step ...

(Note: In keeping with Elaine and Jeremy's choice on their first dance song, The Directors suggest to any couple who marries, to pick a first dance song with sentimental value. Something that means something to them. Try, if you can, not to follow suit to typical first dance wedding songs. Be original like Elaine and Jeremy :)

Highlights of the evening

The Venue

For those of you who have never been to Elmridge Country Club, it is primarily a private golf club with lavish green golf courses. It also acts as a venue for events such as weddings and other private functions such as birthday parties, anniversaries and more. The Staff is curteous and the management, respectful, organized and professional. We always enjoy playing at the prestigious club when the chance arises.

The Directors

As usual, The Directors began the evening with some light instrumental cocktail music as guests entered the hall.
The Directors, along with lead front people, Tony Picciuto and Randi Katz, sent the dance floor into a frenzy while performing their varied repertoire from start to finish.

Here's a look onto the dance floor as attendees get romanticized by sweet sounds provided by The Directors.

Frank Bufo ( Guitarist extraordinaire) and Fred Manricks ( Keyboard Guru ) lay it down during a high energy dance set.

The night was enthralling, truly. The vibe was a constant cheerful party atmosphere that only ended once the last guest left the building. If walls could talk.....

Special Features

Elaine, the newly-wed bride, decided it would be fun to sing a song for her new husband. Elaine chose the song "Because the night" by the 10,000 maniacs and rocked out live with "The Directors. Nice job Elaine, You nailed it!

Honourable mentions

Many pictures were taken on this night. And everyone who attended were key players to the success of the overall evening. Unfortunatley, we only have time to highlight the very best.
Congratulations to those who made the cut...
And the award for "best shot of the night" (other than those of the beautiful bride and her handsome groom ofcourse) goes to... drum roll please.....

The Shooter Boys

Congratulations gentleman !
These guys belong in the sequel to "The wedding singer", I think they might even be auditioning for the lead roles in "Wedding crashers". (And yes, they were actually invited to this wedding.)

One more mention goes out to Marilyn Carsley, mother of the bride, for all her hard work and planning efforts. It is plainly obvious, the love that you have for your daughter.

Another special thanks goes out to Nat Raider Productions.

Well folks, that's it for this one.....
Until next time when "The Directors" head to Markham, Toronto for an authentic Italian wedding.
