THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: HOLY CANNOLI ! ON THE SET OF NICKY DEUCE

You might recognize The Directors Showband from their 2010 film debut "Barney's Version". They were the band featured in the pivotal wedding scene.

Last week, members of The Directors were on the set of  "Nicky Deuce" .  A Nickelodeon movie based on the children’s book of the same name penned by Steve Schirripa and Charles Fleming.

(Steve Schirripa, who is most famous for his memorable turn as

Bobby ‘Bacala’ Baccalieri in The Sopranos.)

The book tells the story of a kid who spends the summer with his grandmother in Bensonhurst – Schirripa’s home turf – and rediscovers his Italian roots.

The nerdy kid meets an uncle he never knew and is transformed into Nicky Deuce.

The grandmother is played by the legendary Rita Moreno, the singer, dancer and actress who has won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards, 

and is most famous for starring in the film West Side Story.

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND : A TRUE STORYBOOK ROMANCE

The tale of Elyse and David is a true storybook romance. 

After their first meeting back in high school, 

it was plain to see, that they would end up to be , Mr. and Mrs. for the whole world to see.

And in June of 2012 , their vows told the tale of their one and only love,  for each other.

The Directors Showband were fortunate enough
to be their chosen entertainment on their most special day.
