"FLY ME TO THE MOON" fundraiser

June 5th, 2008

FLY ME TO THE MOON was a star studded-fundraiser designed to benefit Women’s Health Initiatives at four Montreal hospitals.

The Directors were there to entertain.

Starlink Aviation, a 42,000 square foot private hangar in Dorval, Qc was the point of departure for this cosmic adventure. Hosted by ‘Captain’ BEN MULRONEY

and featuring an organizing committee of some of the city’s most creative and philanthropic business women, 400 plus ‘passengers’ were treated to international musical talent, a tableau of spectacular Badgley Mischka Couture gowns, and a universe of surprises!
This sexy chic event was designed to capitalize on the Grand Prix buzz and raise the bar for philanthropic endeavors.

As doors opened, "passengers" were amazed at the eye candy surrounding them.
Cirque de Soleil acrobatics in the air as a drum troupe (Zurumba) wailed beats.

Special guests were Disco Diva "Thelma Houston" !

Below are: Tony, Thelma Houston and Randi...

And if that weren't enough, ever heard of the songs "Good Times" or "He's the greatest dancer" or "We are family"?
Ladies and Gentleman, Sister Sledge!

And then to put the cheery on the cake, who else but Montreal's own JONAS performed with his guitar player and The Directors were there to back him up.
Honestly? If you haven't yet heard of Jonas...you will..he's a rockstar!

An event like this doesn't just happen on its own. There are many sponsors and planners who take part, who put their time and energy in to making it happen. Special mentions go out to Atmosp(here) Communications and Events,
Kloda Productions, Danielle Bitton, Bombardier, Java U catering, and numerous other sponsors.

The event truly was spectacular and probably the most grandiose of the entire year.
The Directors are proud and honored to have been a part of it.

Below are Tony, Randi and Jason of Atmosp(here)

Sincerely,

The Directors Showband.

A heartfelt cause

On Saturday, April 5th, 2008, The Directors Showband performed at Le Crystal in St.Laurent for the 10th annual " Celebration of life " event in association with the Royal Victoria hospital.

The event was headed by Rosa Shields benefiting the organ transplants committee and paying homage to the many doctors and teams whose remarkable success have saved many lives. It also noted the recipients of these transplants.
A cause well worth celebrating.
If you would like to make a donation to this cause please click here.
The event drew the largest turn out the committee had ever seen and everyone was on guard for an evening of first class entertainment provided by The Directors Showband.

The dance floor never ceased to be full and The Directors kept the crowd heated.....

(Above" Tony" from The Directors)

Although most chose to dance the night away, others were more intrigued to sit and watch as Randi and Tony, The Directors front people, spewed chemistry.

The committee's goals in raising funds for their cause was a success and everyone went home feeling elated. Although it was a successful evening, it is organizations such as these, that constantly need your help to better increase their research and development.
Once again, if you would like to donate, please click here.

The Directors would like to thank Le Crystal and the entire team from the organ transplants committee associated with the Royal Victoria Hospital.
We sincerely hope that our contributed efforts have added to the overall success of your committees goals.

We thank you for enabling us to do our part.

Sincerely,

The Directors Showband.

Farha raises close to $250,000 for the fight against AIDS

February 21,2008, The Directors Showband performed for The Farha Foundation.
Organized by Atmosp(here) communications and events, the event raised almost $250,000 dollars for the fight against AIDS.

"Some 330 of Montreal’s finest were at the Marché Bonsecours, where guests alternated between the Martini and Preseco bar, put chips down at the charity casino tables and perused high-end items on silent auction before sitting down to a 4-course culinary feast served by BICE Restaurant. Andrew Carter welcomed guests with enthusiasm, raffling off everything from a snowboard, to a Tremblant weekend getaway. Ross Paperman brought energy and competition to a live auction that offered Céline Dion and Spice Girl tickets as well as a Habs night at the Bell Centre complete with Zamboni ride!"

"The evening’s musical line-up of the Lambert Chan Duo, Florence K and the 10-piece variety band The Directors, lead by Randi Katz and Tony Picciuto, brought the crowd to its feet in revelry. Several guests left with fabulous surprises including the evening’s door prize, a return flight for two to Paris - the city of light! "

The Directors would like to thank The Farha Foundation, Atmosp(here) Communications and Events and all who were associated with this event and its very worthy cause. The Directors were honored to have taken part in it.

Event of Christmas past

The Directors showband perform at more than weddings. They can be booked for any event that requires live entertainment. Due to their very busy schedules, it is impossible to review every single event.
Here is a look at one corporate Christmas event which took place at newly renovated Centre de reception Sorrento in December of 2007.
This event had a black and white theme.

The party was a slamming success.

sincerely,

The Directors.

Nice day for a white wedding

On October 20th, 2007, Lauren and Nic were happily married at the Sofitel Hotel in Montreal.
For their opening dance, the couple chose something a little edgier than the usual slower tempo melody to kick start the evening.
The song they chose was "White Wedding" by Billy Idol and The Directors showband did not fail to recreate it just like the original.
It's not often to see the cha cha performed to a Rock tune.
Lauren and Nic sure pulled it off with flying colors.

The reception was mixed with the traditions of a Jewish wedding combined with French culture flair.

The evening's schedule ran seamlessly with Ellyn Strulovitch of Planned 2 Perfection events on board , one of the most savvy, professional and organized planners in the city. She truly takes the clients needs into account.
After all the planning and organizing for a wedding, it's always comforting to know that on the day of, the family can enjoy the party while someone else takes care of the organization of the event.
Great Job Ellyn!

Back to the party.......

The Myers' family was proudly honored with the appropriate "mezinka" tradition as Lauren was the first and last child to be married off.
Mazel Tov!

Lauren and Nic cut their wedding cake which we can safely say was even more delicious than it appeared.

It was clear that everyone enjoyed themselves.

The Directors Showband would like to thank the Myers and Bousette families,
the Sofitel Hotel and Ellyn from Planned 2 perfection events. With these key players, the reception certainly was a success and The Directors were honored to be a part of it.

sincerely,

The Directors.

You had to be there.....

The highly anticipated wedding between Regine Shaffer and Mathew Rodier took place on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 at the Chevra Kadisha synagogue.

More than 300 guests attended and the reception was "out of control".
The couple and their guests definitely knew how to celebrate.

Tony from "The Directors" looked on with surprise as Matthew took an original stance in the Jewish Hora.

(Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, DO NOT, we repeat, DO NOT try this at home)...

We can see here that the hora was what sent this wedding reception into a frenzy.
The pictures shown here are not even half of the story and could not possibly depict the amount of energy in the room.
You really did have to be there, if you were even lucky enough to have been on the guest list...

The Directors were there in full force.... keeping the crowd energized all night long.
(click the control button below to see a clip from their performance... The audio levels here are not a direct representation of the overall sound)

....................................................................................................
The Garter

Matthew awaited his cue to get the garter...

He shoots, he scores!

.......................................................................................................
The Bouquet

...........................................................................................
A double mezinka

The Mezinka in the Jewish tradition is a huge blessing to the family. It represents how life has come full circle and now all the children have been married off. In this case, both families were blessed.
Mazel Tov!

.....................................................................................................
A Circle of friends

The evening closed with friends and relatives surrounding Regine and Matthew with a circle of love and support. It was very obvious that all who attended gave their blessings to the happy couple...

As do we, The Directors....
On behalf of the Directors Showband, Mazel Tov to you both and to your families. There is truly something special that we saw in both of you. We wish you all the happiness, success and love for the future.
We would also like to thank you for choosing The Directors, it was out utmost pleasure in performing for you and your guests.
Thanks also to the Chevra Kadisha (The Ballroom) .

Sincerely,

The Directors.
