The Directors Showband_The Montreal Children's ABC Ball

The Directors Showband performed for the Montreal Children's ABC Ball.

Nadia Saputo of Fandica headed the ball with the help of the Children's committee and Les 3 Producteurs.

The theme for the evening was "Diamonds and Pearls"

$ 900,000 was raised in the efforts for the Children's Hospital. 

850 attended. 

The Directors Showband gave their big band best as guests entered the outstandingly decorated room.

Ambassador to the Children's is none other than Montreal's own Nikki Yanofsky who performed her Olympic single " Believe".

The Directors continued to rock the dance floor with a newly updated repertoire of music. 

The Directors would like to thank Nadia Saputo and the entire Children's committee for providing us with the opportunity to be a part of this special event.

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: on GLOBALTV/FOCUS MONTREAL for BARNEY'S VERSION

The Directors Showband were interviewed by Richard Dagenais on Global TV/Focus Montreal for their role in "Barney's Version" the movie which is still in theaters and has been nominated for an OSCAR for  "Best Make up". The film's lead actor, Paul Giamatti, recently won a Golden Globe for his role in the film.
If you haven't already seen the film, you should. Definitely worth it. Ebert gave it 3.5 stars out of 4.

Paul Giamatti wins the golden award for Best actor in a motion picture_ Comedy or musical for his role in "Barney's Version".

Congratulations to Paul Giamatti for an award winning performance!

The Directors Showband talk bagels and "Barney's Version" on CJAD's The Andrew Carter Morning Show . 

This was their second feature on CJAD in a 2 week span.

7:00  in the morning comes quick as Tony uses his bagel as a guitar pic. 

Frank's guitar never sounded so yummy.

Tony and Frank write their first original piece entitled: " We love bagels: Ode to Montreal"

Andrew Carter welcomes The Directors to the show.

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: CJAD INTERVIEW w/ ABE HEFTER

The Directors Showband were at CJAD last week on the Ric Peterson show to talk about their experience in "Barney's Version" The movie. 

Filling in for Ric Peterson was Abe Hefter.

The Directors Showband would like to thank Abe Hefter and CJAD for having us on the show. 

"Barney's Version" the movie is playing now in selected theaters in Montreal and Toronto and opens worldwide on January 14th, 2011.

In other news, Paul Giamatti has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in "Barney's Version" the movie .

The Directors Showband_ Mordecai:The Life and Times

The Directors Showband were honored to speak about their experience in "Barney's Version" the movie at the launch of Charles Foran's new biography, Mordecai :The Life and Times.

The event was held at the Westmount Library in Victoria Hall where 350 gathered to pay tribute to the late and great Mordecai Richler.

Florence Richler, Mordecai's beloved wife and close family members attended. 

Others who spoke were: Bill Brownstein (The Gazette) and Charles Foran (Mordecai:The Life and Times) to name a few.
