2012 Canadian Special Events, Reader's Choice awards.

Stunned and humbled, Tony Picciuto and Randi Katz accepted
the award with gratitude and overwhelming emotion.

"We'd like to thank those who have supported us over the years. Without the support of our clients, families, friends and industry peers, we would not be able to do what we love most. It is with great honor that we accept this award. This will only push us to be better. "

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: 12th ANNUAL FRIENDS FOR THE CURE FUNDRAISER

This past weekend, The "Friends for the cure" foundation in collaboration with the Cedars Cancer Institute put on their annual fundraiser to raise funds and awareness for cancer.

Their collective efforts raised $315,000 for the foundation towards a cause that affects daily.

We all know someone who has been afflicted with this grave disease.

Thankfully, sometimes, there are survivors.

Randy Tieman , Sports Anchor and Reporter, CTV NEWS MONTREAL,

shared his battle with attendees.

His poignant story gives us hope and his message to all is:
" Don't give up". He certainly didn't.

Tieman now stands before us, not just a survivor but a warrior fighter.

In attendance, was Andrew Carter, our buddy, CJAD's morning man .

We love you Andrew!

Committee member, Newscaster at Astral Media and host for the evening,

was none other than, Mr. Luciano Pipia.

Held at Le Madison, the food and service were nothing less than impeccable.

There is nothing like an Italian hall party.

Kudos to Pasta Aglio Olio at 4:30 a.m. Thanks Steve! You Rock!

Mamma Mia !

The Directors Showband were the chosen entertainment and in true Director's fashion,

kept the dance floor hopping until 3:00 a.m.

No night would be complete without The Rat Pack.

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: Public event: February 18th, 2012

Chances are we all know someone who has fought or is fighting cancer, or worse, someone who has died of cancer. The fight against this disease can be very scary and even lonely, but it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s very comforting and reassuring to know there’s the Cedars Cancer Institute’s CanSupport Program at the Montreal General Hospital to help patients and their families in the dreaded battle against this often merciless disease.

We hope you can join us for the 12th annual "Friends for the Cure" fundraiser to be held Saturday February 18th, 2012 at Le Madison in Saint Leonard. Proceeds will once again be forwarded to the institute. Tickets are $150 pp. For tickets or more information, you can message me or you can call 514-793-4226.

Entertainment will be provided by "The Directors Showband".

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: Public event: February 11th, 2012

For twelve years, the Montreal AHEPA Family (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) has held its St. Valentine’s “For the Love of Children” Ball, to benefit children’s causes in the Greater Montreal area. To date, we have successfully raised over $400,000.

This year’s beneficiary will be the Giant Steps Foundation (www.giantstepsmontreal.com) which supports the Giant Steps School and Resource Center for autistic children. This unique institution provides exceptional support to children and their parents.

Giant Steps School and Resource Center is the only institution in Quebec focused exclusively on autism spectrum disorders. Respected throughout the educational and medical community, its therapeutic and educational programs strive to improve the abilities and skills of children with autism and related disorders while integrating them into regular schools and the community at large. Ultimately, the Giant Steps team aims to enable the greatest number of autistic children to reach their full potential and achieve independence in our society.

The Saint Valentine’s Ball is the crowning event of our annual fundraising campaign for children’s causes. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2012, at the Palace Reception Hall, 1717 Le Corbusier Boulevard (north of St. Martin), Laval, Quebec H7S 2K7.

In previous years, this event has supported the Montreal Shriners Hospital for Children; the Montreal Children’s Hospital; St. Justine’s Hospital; and the Children’s Wish Foundation.
