THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: Live at Le Capitole

On May 22nd, 2009, The Directors Showband performed for the Montreal English school board at le Capitole in Quebec City. With its nostalgic 40's decor and lush round booths, Le Capitole is the perfect venue for any corporate event. Warm candelabras light the room creating an aura of charm, warmth and mystique. Not to mention their highly capable and professional staff and sound engineers and stage hands.

The evening began with a mind blowing aerialist performance.

The Directors Showband played an entertaining show of their classic big band sounds and romantic ballads which caught the crowd's attention from the getgo and kept them captivated all night long.

The Directors are known for their high level of talent and value of entertainment.
Their show is never stale and always up to date with the best in music and dance.

Tony Picciuto, lead singer for The Directors Showband, croons the best of Frank and Buble and his versatility puts him in a league of his own. From Bocelli to Bon Jovi, Kanye West to Coldplay, Picciuto can do anything and everything.

The band has been noted by many as probably one of the tightest groups in Montreal.Their ability to change song selections on a dime shows why The Directors are adaptable to any audience.
It clearly shows that this band loves what they do.It is also apparent that the audience loves it as much as they do.
The Directors female vocalist/entertainer, and Tony's partner, Randi Katz, adds an extra spice to the band with shining stage presence, character and mesmerizing vocal technique.
Also versatile, she sings out melodies from the 40's straight through till the hits of today.
With their onstage chemistry , unparalleled showmanship and strong character, it's no wonder why Picciuto and Katz are the most sought after duo in Montreal.

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: Nadia is 40-won!

Nadia Saputo celebrated in high style, her 41st birthday on February 14th, 2009.
The event took place at the Sheraton Laval.
It was a special celebration and a well deserved stylish set up for the event.
Months of planning went into the look and concept of the event and all of Nadia's B.F.F.'s and family were there to support.
The Directors Showband were the chosen band for the event and delivered a usual all star performance .

The REAL star of the night was Nadia who surprised her guests with her many talents and unbelievable videos shot and edited by Chris James at Dekade Films.

It was the close knit family who were next to surprise Nadia.

Nadia's children prepared a killer dance routine.

Nadia's brother, Joey, laid out the top 10 in Nadia's honour.

Lino and Lea serenaded her with a beautiful rendition of Michael Buble and Nelly Furtado's "Quando Quando".

There were so many elements which made the party a slamming success thanks to all of Nadia's hard work along with Showtime Entertainment.
You really did have to be there....
The Directors Showband would like to thank Nadia and Showtime Entertainment along with the Sheraton Laval.
Definitely a Top 10 front running event.

THE DIRECTORS SHOWBAND: Winter weddingland

Most Jewish weddings take place on Sunday evenings. The reason for this being, that most Saturdays throughout the year, The Sabbath ends later and the sun only goes down at a later hour.
One great reason to be married in the late winter months...no one has to work the next day and the party can go much longer.

Jonothan and Amy signed the "Ketubah" (the Jewish contract of marriage) on Saturday January , 10th, at the Shaare Zion Synagogue.
Officially then declared husband and wife !

Amy, who was not from a Jewish background, had close friends and relatives travel all the way from England to join her in the hora and celebrations.

The Taylor family had no problems following along while the Morton family and pulled out all the stops, showing their new family exactly how it was done.

It is customary to raise the honoree and his or her family members on a chair during the hora.
Scary it might be, but truly an honor.

Mr.Taylor surely got a good feel for what it was like all the way at the top.
For a first timer, we think he handled it brilliantly!

The Directors Showband have been given accolades by some of the most well known Rabbis in Montreal regarding their version of the Jewish Horas.

Jonothan's brother was next to deliver the blessing on the wine and bread which began the meal ...

During the meal, a few were chosen to provide heartwarming speeches to the newlyweds.

..............................................
Amy danced with her father to Elton John's classic "Your song".

Jonothan danced with his mother to the chosen song " The man you've become" by Molly Pasutti.

It was then time for what every Jewish parent looks forward to once the last child has been married off.
The customary "Mezinka".
This is the time of the evening when the parents who have now married off their last child are honored by all .
This custom signifies the circle of life, which has come to a symbolic end and will now continue on to the next generation.
Truly a blessing in Jewish tradition.

.....................................................
The Directors Showband have never been ones to shy away from connecting with the audience.
In fact, anyone is welcome to join them onstage.

Manny, from the synagogue Shaar Zion joins in with The Directors' already high calibre horn section giving an extra punch to the overall sound of the band.

No one should ever feel intimidated to come up and show their stuff.

The Directors will only finish their performance once the last guest leaves.
They are also known for taking very few breaks which keeps the party roaring and in this case was 2 a.m.
Not a problem for The Directors.
It's obvious that they love what they do and this can be proven through the faces of their audience members.

The Directors Showband would like to thank The Morton and Taylor families for showing them a great time. Thank you to Manny and the entire Shaare Zion Synagogue. It is always a pleasure to perform in your establishment.

מזל טוב

Sincerely,

The Directors Showband
